The OSPW System for Shimano 9100/9150 and 8000 SS/8050 SS is an industry leading product, chosen by many of the world's leading cycling teams and professional triathlete's.

Featuring a 13-tooth upper pulley wheel and a 19-tooth lower pulley wheel to provide absolute optimisation of the rear derailleur. The upper and lower oversized aluminium pulley wheels come fitted with either standard or coated CeramicSpeed Bearings.


What is Coated?

The coating is a metallic layer, which is 75% harder than the hardened steel races. The coating is applied in a very thin and even layer of 3 microns (0,003 mm) on the entire surface of the bearing race. Both the inside and the outside are treated to achieve optimal results.

The Coated OSPW System for Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 Coated has been developed in Denmark by CeramicSpeed and is constructed from the highest quality materials. This sleek and efficient Oversized Pulley Wheel system is all about optimising your bikes performance and this version is compatible with Shimano 9100/9150 systems, featuring a 13/19-tooth combination specially designed to fit the 9100 derailleur.

The pulley wheels are fitted with coated CeramicSpeed Bearings to minimise friction, and power savings from using this system are 30 - 60% - around 2.4 watts. The system has undergone thorough testing by CeramicSpeed and is popular with professional triathletes and cyclists.

For the best shifting performance, a Shimano cassette should be used and the OSPW system fits cassettes up to 32t. Weight is around 77 grams and the capabilities of the system outweigh the negligible weight addition compared to standard systems.

Coated vs Uncoated


All Ceramic Speed products come uncoated as standard, and it's a pretty good standard. As the name suggests, the bearings are made with uncoated hardened steel races with our trademark ceramic balls. Ceramic Speed's steel is of the highest quality, and through rigorous testing, they have guaranteed its lifetime up to 4 years.

In order to get the best performance and shifting from your OSPW System, it is recommended to have the system installed by a professional bike mechanic.

Below are two step-by-step installation guides on how to best install the Shimano 9100/8000 OSPW System. One for the first version of the system with a stop screw, and one for the newest design with an integrated stop tower.

When travelling, please remember to dismount your entire rear derailleur with an Allen key, as the OSPW System will not fit in most bike travel bags and could be damged if left on.

Maintenance of Coated Bearings

Coated Bearings are more resistant to lack of lubrication when it comes to wear and damage on the bearing. Nonetheless, this does not mean that the need for maintenance is eliminated.

Regarding the maintenance of your OSPW System, it is important that you properly lubricate your bearings in order to ensure optimal performance and maximum longevity. Add oil by using the lubrication points on the back cage plate, so that oil can penetrate the bearing. Do this when you lubricate your chain, if you have washed your bike or after riding in wet or muddy conditions.
