Since 2004, Fulcrum has developed wheels for bikes with a sole, constant objective in mind: to deliver the best performance that modern technology can offer.
A large part of this task is the responsibility of the R&D division engineering team in Italy. However, if you want to create ever faster wheels, you cannot focus solely on test bench results, you also need to gain feedback from top riders and cycling fans worldwide.
The Fulcrum range of road bike wheels offers lightweight and reliable wheelsets for every condition, course, discipline and budget. From the professional level full carbon aero wheels, to the high performance aluminium line, Fulcrum has the perfect wheel to match your performance. Our engineers have developed optimal technical solutions, from proprietary ceramic bearings to disc brakes and tubeless compatibility, to achieve minimal rolling resistance, ensure maximum safety and provide you with long-term reliable and trouble-free riding fun.
THE STIFFEST AND THE FASTEST WHEELSET TO MAKE YOUR BICYCLE MORE AERODYNAMIC AGAINST THE STRONG WINDS!
AERODYNAMICS
The Airbeat 550 is all about aerodynamics. It is designed to cut air through and give you maximum speed.
WEIGHT- 1710 GM
Though the Airbeat 550 has 55mm deep section, it weights just 1710 gm which makes the wheel lighter and increases your efficiency at a higher level of extent.
ULTIMATE EFFICIENCY AND SPEED
Our engineers carry out extensive aerodynamic research and development to create high profile aero bike wheels that can achieve optimal air penetration and high speeds, without compromising handling, so that you can shave away precious time from your performance.
FULCRUM AIRBEAT 550
The Airbeat .The rim is 55mm deep and constructed using unidirectional carbon fibre layers shaped with a blunt aero shape with an 8mm radiused edge at the spoke bed. The rim is wide at 28mm and can be used both as a standard clincher or tubeless.
The components, aside from the light carbon rims, consist of CNC-machined aluminium hubs holding 24 straight pull spokes. The spokes sit in special alloy beds in the rim, which means perfect alignment and friction-free tensioning when building (or maintaining).
Taking consideration of many cyclists review, these wheels roll smoothly, the freehub engagement is quick and, after hundreds of miles of testing, there is no play in wheels at all.On the road, the Winds impress with their resolute stiffness. This adds a responsive feel to direction changes and pedal inputs, especially when sprinting hard.
